From organic to regulatedThis project explores how highly irregular tree trunks can be transformed into structured and dimensioned systems. Through strategic cuts and wedge insertion, the natural geometry is modified to guide its curvature and direct the branches towards specific loading points.
Through 3D scanning, parametric design and robotic manufacturing, we develop a controlled transformation that allows us to take advantage of the structural potential of parts of the tree that are normally discarded due to their shape, opening up new architectural possibilities for natural wood.
